2009 April Prayer Requests
Please give thanks for answers to prayer:
- For a good outreach meeting at UCG, when John McCarthy gave his testimony
- For the large number of children attending Friday Club
- For Tara’s successful operation and continuing convalescence.
This month, please pray for:
- The Amazing Journey presentation at Knockanean School on 1st April
- The new fellowship at Lahinch as Steve & Leslie settle into their new home
- All you know who are ill or struggling with work, finances or relationships.
Please continue to pray for:
- God to move in power in Ennis and Co. Clare to bring in a mighty harvest for His glory
- His guidance for EEC, esp. for new premises to accommodate our growing numbers
- For Friday Club in Cloughleigh, to reach children AND parents with the Good News!
- Street witnessing every other Saturday night in Ennis (planned this month for 11th & 25th).

Praise the Lord that He has placed it on the hearts of His people to witness to the unsaved! It is such a pleasure and privilege to be able to stand on the streets of Ennis on Saturday nights and speak to passers-by about our Lord Jesus Christ. However, in recent months we have given out many tracts (which, of course, the Lord may choose to use for His purposes) but I can’t recall anyone stopping to have a discussion since before Christmas. Until last Saturday, that is!
As usual, we prayed before setting out and I know others were praying too but it started off quietly enough. Then a chap came along asking questions, saying his girlfriend is “very religious”, wanting to know more but doing a lot of the talking himself! I spoke to him for a little while, then Vincent took over…… and an hour or so later he was sounding very appreciative and it seemed to me that the Lord had started to soften his heart.
In the middle of that conversation, another older fellow interrupted, asking for a cigarette (which the first chap gave him!!) and then he started sharing with Vincent. It turned out that he had tried to commit suicide the previous day and was a troubled soul. Vincent was able to pray for him that the Lord would bring him comfort.
Meantime a third man came along very upset and talked to me about the painful divorce that he is going through currently and his concerns about not seeing his two children. I prayed that the Lord would bring him peace and show him His love. He took a tract and went away saying no-one had ever prayed for him before in this way and seemed grateful.
It is a wonderful blessing to be able to bring something of God’s love to folk who do not know Him, particularly to those with struggles or difficulties.
Please pray for Sean, Gerry and David that the Lord would continue to work in their lives and that they would come to know Him in a personal way.
Please pray too that the Lord might use the many tracts that have been handed out over the months for His work of salvation.
